2017 Intentions: better late than never!
We are approaching the end of January, but I figured it is better late than never to share some of my 2017 Intentions with you!
Sometimes resolutions (which imply that you are already doing something wrong ) can feel a bit intimidating, and heck, a bit judgy! Who wants to feel judged? Not me. Instead I have shifted to setting intentions, which acknowledge that we are OK (just as we are). We are human and full of flaws but still we strive to feel and manifest our best self.
My 2017 Intentions:
1) Laugh more. I can be Sally Serious sometimes (my husband can attest to this hehe). I am a worrier and there struggles with family health, and personal health have made me feel a bit more somber, and cautious. I want to shake off the hold that worry brings, and laugh more!
2) Prioritize. This one is a biggie. I need to allow myself the space to say yes to the things I truly feel are important, and allow myself to say no to others. Building a business, starting a new career, and living in a new place are all factors that can pile up and feel overwhelming. Continuing to prioritize will be key to balancing it all!
3) Deepen my Meditation practice. This is something I have struggled with. I know the value of it, I understand the great potential, and yet sometimes I find myself putting it last...or worse not at all! Instead my intention will look like creating a cozy, peaceful space at home and also setting aside time each day.
4) Spend time in the ADK's. One of the most beautiful things about moving back to NY are the Adirondack Mountains. My family has a camp in the central ADK's and due to distance I haven't spent much time there the past two years. It's time to reconnect to the place I love so much.
So there you have it, some of my intentions for 2017. I would like to continue to set goals each month, and I have a nice loooong list of things I want to accomplish, or experiences I want to have. But for now, I will prioritize :) and remember that life is more than a series of accomplishments, or items off a to-do list. We can all take time to breathe a little deeper, and laugh a little more.
