December 2016 Goals
Holy December! It's here. And even though today feels unusually warm, I wanted to share my 2016 December Goals with you.
My November goals were: to add more variety into workouts/movement routine, write in my gratitude journal daily, and focus on my evening routine. Overall I felt connected to these goals, but I know I can continue to work on them in the coming months. I would love to add more of a strength focus to my workouts and LOTS of yoga. When I was in Costa Rica practicing twice daily it felt so good! I also know that when I am in the groove of a structured routine I am faithful with gratitude journaling and my evening practices. When I was traveling and with visiting family for Thanksgiving I know that is when I tend to put those things aside (even though I know how beneficial they are).
For my December goals I am focusing on maintaining the progress from November but adding in a different set. So here they are!
- Read Why Can't I Get Better? Solving The Mystery of Lyme and Chronic Disease by Dr. Richard Horowitz. Dr. Horowitz is a leader in the field of Functional Medicine and Lyme Disease. This is something I will be facing a lot of in my field in Functional Medicine, and I am committing to have read it by the end of December (better get going, it's thick!). Want to know more? Check out Dr. Horowitz here
- Perfect a healthy gingerbread recipe at home! This may sound silly, but a tradition in our house growing up is to make gingerbread men (and women) and decorate them. Since I will be home this year I of course am going to insist on this, and am hoping to create a healthy option! Stay tuned. I have been doing some testing here in NH and so far so good, but there is room for improvement for sure.
- Enjoy the Holidays without feeling stressed. This is a hard goal to measure I know, BUT within the next week I will be moving!(more on this soon) and will be traveling back and forth from NH to NY, celebrating with family and shifting focus on a new career opportunity. This is all good stuff, and I need to remind myself to just sit, breath and let some of the small things go. Focus on the things that matter like spending time with loved ones, and celebrating together.
Happy December friends! What are some of your goals this month?
