November 2016 Goals
Can you believe it is November 1st already? This Fall season seems to be flying by. Last week I was home for a few days in New York and it was great to spend some quality time with my family and see old friends (Hey Annie B!). It also got me thinking of November goals this month. I was inspired by reading a post from Allie (The Journey Junkie) where she had shared her October 2016 Goals last month. With the start of my Yoga Teacher Training, potential life changes, and personal growth, I felt like it was a good time to get some goals down to help keep me inspired and present.
November 2016 Goals:
(in no particular order)
- Vary workouts/movement. I feel like in the past few months with the changes of my health, career shifts, moving etc. I have been in a more singular focus (sometimes out of necessity) of cycling, yoga and I want to incorporate more variety and movement in my exercise routine. My body is feeling like it can handle a bit more variety now without setting me back, and I want to feel strong (& badass) to support my Yoga practice and every day life. I am beginning with some online workouts that vary week to week.
- Gratitude Journal (5 Minute Journal) every day. When life gets busy it is easy for me to forget or to not take the time to do it, but that is EXACTLY when I need it the most, so I am committing to this. (I set a daily reminder on my phone)
- Focus on winding down in the evenings. This looks like tea and reading before bed. Also closing my eyes, sitting down and taking 10 deep cleansing breaths. Sometimes I find myself mindlessly snacking in front of the TV in the evenings when I am not even hungry. I know that focusing on reading a good book with a mug of tea rather than watching a show will allow me to be more present and relaxed.
My instinct is to add so many more goals to this list! AHH there are so many things I want to do and try. Knitting for one! Or picking up my charcoal pencils again. On the path for personal growth and happiness it can feel like we want to do ALL of the things. Sometimes what is best is to choose 2-3 specific goals, turn your attention and practice to them. This way you will not feel overwhelmed or risk the feeling of failure because you simply put too many things on your list. Tonight take some time, cozy up and journal about your goals. Set 3 goals for this month and feel free to share them below!
